Apollo Nida walked out of federal prison after five years behind bar on Thursday, June 5, but the former reality star’s freedom was short-lived.
Nida was originally sentenced to eight years in prison in 2014 for federal fraud, but welcomed a reduced sentence last year when a judge amended his time in custody from 96 months to 84 months.
Phaedra Parks’ ex-husband was scheduled to regain his freedom in August 2020, but Christmas came early for Nida when he walked out of FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey last Wednesday (June 5).
According to Bravo, a representative says Apollo allegedly broke a technical condition of his release, but did not expand on the violation.
“He was taken back into custody. I wouldn’t say it was an arrest because it’s not a new charge. It was an order of the court to bring him into custody,” the representative said. “We took him to Federal Bureau of Prisons and they will deal with it since he was in their custody.”
While it’s possible Nida will remain in custody until his Oct. 15 court date, his fiancée, Sherien, jumped on Twitter this morning to set the record straight: “For those who are confused @apollonida03 didn’t violate a goddamn thing.”
