Ashanti is reportedly expecting her first child with boyfriend and rapper, Nelly.
A source close to the couple exclusively told US Weekly that “Nelly and Ashanti are welcoming their first baby together.” Rumors about the pregnancy began to circulate after the “Happy” singer placed her hand on her stomach during a performance at Nelly’s Black and White Ball.
The gesture left fans feeling shocked and confused at the same time. The couple broke out in laughter as they seemingly hinted that the singer is pregnant. We reported that Nelly and Ashanti got back together this year after calling it quits in 2013.
The sparked dating rumors after they were seen holding hands at a boxing match in April while in Las Vegas. In September, the “Hot In Herre” rapper confirmed his relationship with Ashanti while doing an interview with fellow rapper, Rasheeda.
He said that the both of them were surprised and that getting back together was in the plans. A source also spoke on their relationship and said, “A few years ago, Ashanti never would’ve imagined reconciling with Nelly.” The source added, “They don’t want to rush anything.”
They recently celebrated each other’s birthdays and posted sweet messages about each other on their Instagram pages.
If the rumors are true, this will be Nelly’s third child and Ashanti’s first. Congratulations to the happy couple.
