As detectives continue to investigate the homophobic and racial attack on Empire actor Jussie Smollett, Chicago PD has released a surveillance photo of two men in black near Smollett’s attack.
Law enforcement revealed the image in hopes the public will be able to help identify and locate the men seen in the footage because it’s too blurry to see anything outright.
According to TMZ, the two men “were seen walking on New Street near the intersection with E. Illinois Street between 1:30 AM and 1:45 AM. Theyre about a block away from the Subway restaurant Jussie had gone to Tuesday morning…”

A Chicago reporter named Rob Elgas says Smollett can be seen on video walking on the opposite side of the street as the two men seen in the surveillance photo. Elgas claims the 35-year-old actor is “unaccounted for on camera” for approximately 60 seconds before reappearing “with what appears to be street salt on his sweater and the rope around his neck.”
There are still many unanswered questions, but that hasn’t stopped friends, family, colleagues, and fans from showing their support – including his Empire co-stars.
