Beyoncé has received a huge honor in California.

Just ahead of her performance in Santa Clara, California, the City Council has officially declared Wednesday, August 30, that Queen Bey will be the honorary mayor of the city for the day. During the announcement, she was also awarded a key to the city, which was accepted by her publicist, Dr. Yvette Noel-Schure.

Michelle Templeton, Santa Clara spokesperson said in a statement, “The city of Santa Clara is excited about Beyonce’s upcoming visit to the world-renowned Levi’s Stadium.” She continued, “Her concerts will certainly bring a great deal of energy and excitement.”
