Big L will be posthumously honored in a major way. The late rapper will have a street named after him in Harlem.
The news of this honor was announced on L’s official documentary Instagram page, Street Struck. According to the post, the street will be renamed “Lamont “Big L” Coleman Way” on 140th and Lenox Avenue.

“It took a whole lot of effort and support to get to this great point but as a collective we made it happen. The biggest thank you go out to the Dope 500 plus people who signed and passed the petition around so we could get this street renamed,” the caption read.
It continued, “There are entirely too many good people that gave this their support, so with all my heart I personally want to say Thank You!!! #biglrestinpeace #LamontBiglColemanway #behindthelenstv.”
The event will take place on May 28th from 12 pm to 3 pm on 140th and Lenox Avenue.
Big L was for his singles “Put It On” and “M.V.P” that was on his debut 1995 release Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous. That same album also included fan favorite tracks “Street Struck” and “Let Em Have It L.”
Big L was fatally shot on February 15th, 1999 at 24 years old.
