Brandy and her brother Ray J reunited on stage in Atlanta during The Boy Is Mine Tour on Friday, Oct. 31.
In a video post, captured on X, a fan recorded the moment Ray J joined his big sister on stage and gave her a warm embrace. The surprise reunion was met with an emotional response from the audience and online viewers.
The heartfelt moment follows family drama in the Norwood household which made headlines earlier this year. Ray J has often been candid about feeling like an “embarrassment” to the Norwood family due to his high-profile public antics and business ventures that often “serve the algorithm. During an appearance on Evelyn Lozada’s Drop The Lo podcast, Ray J stated, “I just feel like I’m an embarrassment,” to his family, particularly his sister. He admitted that while he loves his sister, he believes his family doesn’t “understand the method to his madness.”
Even outside of family, last year Monica checked Ray J for suggesting that Brandy should open for their tour. “She and I are both consummate professionals that share a massive recording as well as an entire era! Please allow this to remain positive and beautiful! Neither should open, we should give someone else that opportunity and co-headline a massive shared stage if this is to ever happen. Any further convo should be private!”
Ray J also found himself apologizing to Paster Jamal Bryant for threatening him if he published an unaired interview. “Yo, I got nothing but love for Pastor Bryant… but if y’all play that interview, somebody getting snatched off the pulpit.”
During the stop, Monica brought out special guests from her hometown, including Ludacris, Jermaine Dupri, and Tank.
