Following accusations of sexual assault from three different women, multiple organizations are distancing themselves from Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Capital Prep Harlem is the latest to withdraw affiliation to the music mogual. The charter school was opened by Combs in 2016. The school released a statement from Dr. Steve Perry, the founder of Capital Preparatory Schools.
“Following a comprehensive evaluation, a decision has been made to end the partnership between Capital Preparatory Schools and Sean Combs,” the statement read. “While this decision was not made lightly, we firmly believe it is in the best interest of our organization’s health and future.”
Capital Prep Harlem is a public, tuition-free charter school that provides children in grades 6-12 with a rigorous college preparatory education rooted in social justice.
Diddy helped launch the charter school’s Harlem location in 2016 and donated $1 million in 2021 for its Bronx location. The school decided to sever ties with the Bad Boy Records founder shortly after he announced he would be temporarily stepping down as the chairman of Revolt.
