In a preview of her appearance on the Jennifer Hudson Show, Cardi B, 32, offered a candid and humorous look at why she could be open to expanding her family. A mother of three—Kulture, 7; Wave, 4; and Blossom, 12 months—she didn’t mince words.

“One of them is going to wipe my butt.” That zinger inspired Cardi’s unexpected explanation. “It’s like the more kids you have, the less of a possibility you go to a home,” she told Hudson, adding a dose of humor to the reality of parenting.

Her children each reflect pieces of her personality. She said, “My son, he’s funny like me… and then he’s a little bad,” sharing that Wave mimics her expressions and mischievous energy. “My daughter, she’s very girly like me.… she got a little sass. But she’s a good girl,” she continued, describing Kulture.(

Regarding Blossom, Cardi admitted she’s still discovering her youngest’s character. “I’m still learning the baby. I’m still learning her,” she said.

Cardi B also made clear she works to ensure her children stay connected to their roots and develop empathy. “They still outside. They still in the hood and everything,” she told Hudson, describing how her kids spend time with cousins and family.

She went on: “They was just in the Dominican Republic… my grandma’s going to make you clean and stuff.” That kind of exposure, she measures, is necessary. “I want them to know that it’s like there’s another world out there that’s not your world… It’s not always about backyard and foxes and deers. There’s rats and mice.”
