Cardi B is ready to start a new business venture. She wants to launch a hair care line as a way to educate people on different types of Afro-Latina hair.
The rapper who is of Dominican and Trinidadian descent has always been vocal about embracing her nationality and her Afro-Latina roots. In doing so, she has been very opened about her hair care treatments and her own natural DIY hair masks.
While having this conversation on Twitter, she responded back to a follower saying, “Hair texture def don’t make you a race however I am Afro Latina,” she continued.
“Being Afro Latina don’t mean you have to Amara la Negra color neither. My grandmother from my mom side is not Latina at all and her father is light as **** so my mommy is but her siblings are dark.”
Cardi gave details on her new endeavors in a recent Instagram post. She wrote, “This year I will be coming out with a hairline that I been working on at home for my hairline that I been working on at home for my hair and my daughter’s however, I think it is time for people to educate themselves on nationality, race, and ethnicity. Being Hispanic/Latina don’t make your hair long, don’t make your skin light, or don’t make your face features slim specially Latin countries from the Caribbean islands.”
