Cassie has testified that she received a hefty settlement from the hotel that released the footage of her being physically assaulted by Diddy.
The reveal came while she was being cross-examined by Diddy’s defense team in his sex trafficking and racketeering trial. The singer said that she demanded money from the InterContinental Hotel for releasing the video footage of the assault last May.
The video shows Diddy dragging and kicking Cassie, and she testified that the attack happened because she was trying to leave one of his “freak-offs.” The settlement discussion reportedly ended earlier this month for $10 million.
Before the shocking footage was released, Diddy had denied ever putting his hands on Cassie, however, he doubled down in now now-deleted social media post. He said, “I mean, I hit rock bottom, but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable.” He continued, “I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m disgusted. I was disgusted then, when I did it, I’m disgusted now.”
Cassie’s husband, Alex Fine, released a statement about the abuse she endured while in a relationship with Diddy for nearly ten years. “Men who hit women aren’t men. Men who enable it and protect those people aren’t men,” the fitness trainer wrote. “As men, violence against women shouldn’t be inevitable, check your brothers, your friends, and your family. Our daughters, sisters, mothers, and wives should feel protected and loved. Hold the women in your life with the [utmost] regard. Men who hurt women hate women.”
He continued, “To the abusers, you’re done, you’re not safe anymore, you’re not protected anymore, the men by your side are just as weak, you’re so miserable with yourself that death would be considered a kindness.”
