CeeLo Green is making his long-awaited return to NBC’s The Voice as a “Mega Mentor.”
Speaking exclusively with Extra, CeeLo shared what he’s anticipating most as he returns to the show.
“Everybody that walks in the door is in full ownership of their identity,” CeeLo said. “And their individual account, as far as their expression is concerned. So there’s validity in all expressions. And I can always appreciate that.”
The Grammy Award winner also shared what advice he would give to aspiring singers.
“The best advice I can say in your pursuit of happiness is to take your time in a timely fashion,” said CeeLo. “Don’t try to travel the shortest distance between point A and point B. Take the scenic route. You know what I’m saying? There are learning curves there.”
After all his success as a musician, being back on The Voice has deep meaning for the “Crazy” singer.
He said of being back on the show, “It means everything to me to be back on ‘The Voice.’ There’s a part of me that belongs here. There’s a part of me that’s never left.”
Before this current season, his last major appearance was during the Season 23 finale. He performed as part of a star-studded tribute to send off original coach Blake Shelton in his final episode.
In 2018, CeeLo was the Battle Advisor for Team Adam.
CeeLo Green will appear on the Knockout Rounds on The Voice, airing Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and streaming the next day on Peacock.
CEELO DROPPED THE LAST GNARLS BARKLEY ALBUM
Along with his comeback on The Voice, CeeLo recently dropped his latest album. Eighteen years after The Odd Couple, Gnarls Barkley, the psychedelic-soul duo has finally completed their trilogy with Atlanta. Released on March 6, 2026, it’s billed as their final album. The 13-track project sees CeeLo Green and Danger Mouse returning to their roots, anchored by the nostalgic, cinematic lead single “Pictures.”
