CeeLo Green will be honoring the legacy of Rico Wade in an epic way.
The Goodie Mob rapper recently purchased Wade’s former home in Atlanta and has plans on turning it into a museum and a landmark. Wade’s home was known as “The White House,” and would become the home to the Dungeon Family.
Since it was vacant for a few years, CeeLo purchased the home for $1 million which he shared on his Instagram account. “It came to my attention that it was available and on the market,” he wrote. “I then took it upon myself to acquire this monument and Landmark. It was too important and invaluable to leave it be.”
He added, “The asking price was around 1 million. I would’ve paid more! I’m proud to say me and my real estate partner… my sister did that for the family! My pleasure. One day soon it will be a museum, archiving our rich musical history. You’ll be the first to know… and if you’re ever in Atlanta on the Southside, come see us sometime and we will take good care of you, the way Father took care of us. #facts one time for Mr. Wade.”
Rico Wade passed away at 52 on April 13. He was responsible for shaping the sound of Atlanta hip-hop as well as making hits for TLC, En Vogue, Outkast, and Goodie Mob.
