Singer Chilli has decided to open up about her former relationship with fellow singer Usher.
In a new interview, Chilli said she and Usher had a great working relationship, however, their romantic life was different. “We definitely had some chemistry,” she said. “But working chemistry does not mean it works in your personal life. If we were working, it was great. But outside of that, we’re so different.”
Chilli, who dated Usher from 2001 to 2004, went on to say, “It looked great, but in real life, he knew he had to be a certain way with me and he couldn’t.” The TLC member revealed that she had stayed in contact with her ex before cutting all ties in 2019 after leaning on her Christian faith to focus on herself.
“I even stopped dating. Because before that I thought if I met the right guy during that time that I wasn’t over Usher it wouldn’t work. I would never want to straddle the fence,” Chilli admitted. We reported that Chili is currently in a relationship with Boy Meets World actor Matthew Lawrence.
