Last year, Chris Brown bought an exotic monkey he named Fiji, and shared video of his daughter Royalty playing with his new furry friend. He took a lot of heat over the post as people said the capuchin monkey posed a threat to his daughter. The controversy died down, but not in the eyes of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
TMZ recently obtained legal docs stating the Los Angeles City Attorney is charging Brown with two counts of having a restricted species without a permit. Thus, Breezy is now facing up to six months in jail.
Since Brown didn’t have a permit to own and maintain Fiji, authorities were able to execute a warrant and had full intent to raid his home. Thankfully, CB surrendered the animal to prevent a raid from happening.
Chris Brown is set to appear in court Feb. 6.
