According to YouKnowIGotSoul.com, new jack swing artist Christopher Williams is back with new music.
Williams, who emerged in the 90s, has reportedly signed with the SRG-ILS Group (Virgin Music/Universal Music Group). The new partnership includes a joint venture with music executive Vincent Herbert.
In an official press release, the label wrote in a statement:
“The SRG/ILS Group proudly welcomes multi-platinum award-winning R&B crooner, Christopher Williams! The voice behind timeless R&B classics like “I’m Dreamin”, “Promises, Promises”, and “Every Little Thing U Do”, is back—and this time he’s teaming up with legendary music executive, Vincent Herbert in a powerful new joint venture.”
The partnership will kick off with Williams’s releasing a new single this fall. An album is slated to be released in early 2026.
The currently untitled album will feature songs produced by Grammy winning Troy Taylor, Bryan-Michael Cox, Troy Oliver, Travis Cherry, and Vincent Herbert. Fans can expect a mix of the soulful R&B they love, blended with fresh, modern production that speaks to today’s sound.
“This is bigger than music, It’s about giving fans something real—through songs, through stories, through every platform we can touch.” Christopher Williams
A bronx native and cousin to Al B. Sure!, Williams was introduced to fans in the 90s. He released four studio albums and has contributed to several movie soundtracks. In addition to music, Williams is also known for his acting. He appeared in the 1991 film New Jack City. In the movie, he played the character Kareem Akbar, who was one of Nino Brown’s assistants.
He also made a guest appearance in the TV show New York Undercover. He played a singer in an episode called “The Shooter” where he performed his song “Stranger in My Life” in that episode.
In October 2022, Williams shared that he had been dealing with health issues. He had been struggling with kidney failure and was in a coma in November 2021.
