It has been reported that CityMD is set to close 31 locations due to the uprise in COVID cases and staff shortages.
These closures include 20 sites within the five boroughs with more to follow suit. The company released a statement about the closures.
“As so many of you are aware, most CityMD locations are operating at full capacity, doing our best to meet the urgent care needs of the people of New York and New Jersey. Continuing to provide these services to the community is a top priority,” the statement said.
It continued, “However, our physicians and teammates are also a priority.” They also said that the move is necessary to preserve our ability to staff our sites.
The announcement was made after other testing sites have talked about being overwhelmed with Omicron spreading through the city.
