Claressa Shields addressed her relationship with Papoose during a candid radio interview.

Shields, known for her dominance in the ring as a multi-division titleholder, appeared on “The Streetz Morning Takeover” to promote her career. However, the conversation shifted toward her personal life when co-host Mz Shyneka asked the athlete about her romance with fellow boxer and hip-hop figure Papoose. “How much longer are you willing to be in a relationship with someone’s husband?” Mz Shyneka asked during the broadcast.

The question refers to the fact that while Papoose and his longtime partner, rapper Remy Ma, have publicly confirmed their separation, their legal divorce has not been finalized.

Shields, a two-time Olympic gold medalist, has often been vocal about maintaining a strong personal image alongside her athletic achievements. The Flint, Mich., native has navigated the spotlight with the same intensity she brings to her professional matches, often clashing with critics on social media who question her choices.

As of Thursday, neither Papoose nor Remy Ma have issued fresh statements regarding the progress of their divorce proceedings. Shields remains focused on her training and upcoming bouts while managing the complexities of a relationship played out in the public eye.

The interview quickly gained traction on social media, with fans debating modern relationship dynamics and the etiquette of radio hosts asking personal questions. Shields continues to maintain that her private life does not detract from her status as the “G.W.O.A.T.” in the boxing world.
