R&B vocalist Coco Jones has been tapped to kick off Super Bowl 2026 with a performance of “Lift Every Voice and Sing” during the pregame show.

The NFL made the announcement Sunday that Coco Jones will sing “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” Charlie Puth will sing the national anthem, and Brandi Carlile will perform “America the Beautiful” at Levi’s Stadium on February 8.

Desiree Perez, CEO of the event’s co-producer Roc Nation, called the trio “generational talents” who will be joined by deaf performers during the songs. Deaf music artist Fred Beam will perform “The Star-Spangled Banner” and “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” and deaf music performer Julian Ortiz will deliver “America the Beautiful.”

Three-time Grammy Award-winning artist Bad Bunny of Puerto Rico was announced in September as the halftime performer for Super Bowl LX. Despite his massive popularity stateside and around the world, news that he would be headlining was met with unusually intense criticism.

Jones released her debut album “Why Not More” in April, which is Grammy nominated for best R&B album at the 2026 awards ceremony. She currently holds eight Grammy nominations.

The newly-engaged singer dropped a new holiday song “Skip My House” earlier this month. On the production, Jones is so fulfilled with what life has brought her that she doesn’t feel the need to ask for more.
