Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts is officially married to longtime partner Amber Laign.
On Sunday (September 10), Roberts posted to her Instagram page a small recap of the couple’s backyard wedding ceremony, which took place on Friday (September 8).
“An intimate, magical wedding ceremony in our backyard followed by a joyous reception…ohhhh the dancing!!” Roberts wrote on Instagram alongside of photo of her and Laign holding hands in their wedding gowns. “We are immensely grateful to all for making it a day and a night to remember. Honeymoon here we come!”
Congratulatory comments flooded the post from celebrity friends. Omari Hardwick added, “Congratulations my/our long time beloved friend….to you 2!! ❤️❤️” Ava Duvernay commented, “Bless you both and sincerest, joyous congratulations!!!!!”
Roberts shared in January that the couple, who have been together since 2005, planned on getting married this year. “I’m hesitating because I haven’t said it out loud yet,” Roberts said. “We’re getting married this year. It’s something we have talked about, but we had put it off. She became ill, and it is saying yes to that and that next chapter.”
Roberts’ childhood pastor officiated the nuptials, while the brides’ custom-made wedding dresses were designed by Mark Badgley and James Mischka. The ceremony was followed by an “enchanted garden-themed reception.”
Roberts also shared a video of her siblings walking out to make a toast while dancing to Montell Jordan’s “This Is How We Do It.”
