More COS Spotlights…
Originally from Luling Texas, Tamron Hall is a proud graduate of Temple University where she studied Broadcast Journalism.
Soon after graduation in 1992, she moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas and began her broadcasting career. She had a humble start as a general broadcast reporter for KBTX-TV and eventually found herself at the CBS owned television station, KTVT.
She made a name for herself at WFLD-TV in Chicago where she held several positions, including general assignment reporter, consumer reporter, and a host of a three-hour program from 1997 to 2007. She covered many breaking news stories that ultimately highlighted her abilities as a gifted broadcaster. In 2007, she landed a one-on-one interview with Barack Obama for MSNBC, just before he announced his run for the presidency. She was then given the opportunity to hold the position as a general reporter and fill in anchor for Keith Olbermann with MSNBC. In 2017, as her contract was coming to an end, she prompted to leave both NBC News and MSNBC.
Tamron made the biggest move of her career in 2019 with the debut of her self-titled daytime talk show that has earned itself several awards, such as a Daytime Emmy Award. She was also nominated for an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Talk Series for all of the success the talk show had made especially in its freshman season.
You can hear more of Tamron’s journey as the keynote speaker at this year’s Circle of Sisters.
