While the majority of the world may seem happy for Cyntoia Brown, it seems like there are a few who don’t feel the same.
Brown spent half of her childhood in jail and the justice system ultimately failed her. In 2004, at 16, she was sentenced to life in prison for killing a man that was paying her for sex. In January she was granted clemency and was released in August.
While in jail she earned a degree and married former Pretty Ricky member/Christian rapper, Jamie Long. When news broke, Long’s ex-wife, Pam from Total called Long out and “warned” Brown about him. She claims his an opportunist and a manipulator.
Now the mother of Long’s 11-year-old son, Stacy Kirkland, has reportedly filed a motion with a Texas court to make sure that Brown stays far away from her son. She’s upset with Long for not telling her that he got married, and they “agreed” to keep each other in the loop with their relationships.
Kirkland is also concerned for her son’s “safety” due to Brown’s conviction.
In the documents Kirkland said, I am extremely concerned about the safety of our young son, and do not believe that his father, Jaime, will take proper measures to protect (the boy) from danger.”
Since Long didn’t respond to the motion, a judgment was ruled against him. Long can have supervised visits is but Brown can’t be there.
Kirkland is also asking for Long to spend more time with their son.
Hopefully, everything works out!
