Dame Dash discovered Kevin Hart but questioned the comedian’s rise to superstardom.

Speaking with The Art of Dialogue, Dash spoke about casting Hart in his 2002 film Paper Soldiers

“I put Kev on,” Dash claimed to catch his act at a comedy club. “In the next week, I put him in the movie, and then I directed his next movie, Death of a Dynasty. I was there as a friend giving him advice, the whole nine supported him.”

According to Dash, the dynamic between him and Hart changed when the Jumangi star’s career took off. He noted that when he attended one of Hart’s shows in New York, he had a new circle around him.

“I didn’t get that call,” Dash said.

Dash then said that “external forces” had a part to play in Hart’s rise.

“I just now figure they must have him on tape doing something stupid,” he said. “And I just think they all getting blackmailed.”

“I just don’t feel like things are always what they seem,” Dash continued. “And I don’t know what problems Kev had.”

Dash also brought up Hart’s alleged ties to Diddy.

“If you was hanging out in that house, I would just think that you might have somebody have some pictures of you, I don’t know,” Dash said.

“If homie was really on that shit, [Diddy’s house] was a place … to aggregate people doing things that they shouldn’t be doing while they were in an inebriated state of mind,” Dash said, “and then get taped.”

Along with Hart,  Dash took aim at Cam’ron and Ma$e’s relationship. He also made fun their new sports careers.

“Is that fly? That’s not no fresh sh*t. Fly n****s don’t talk about sweaty men,” said Dash. “You gon’ go in the locker room with n****s taking showers and all that? And then talk about them? We used to laugh at that type of sh*t. Like, look at this. What the f*ck is this?”
