Danelo Cavalante Escaped Pennsylvania Prisoner Captured After 14-Day Manhunt

After a long 14-day manhunt, escaped Pennsylvania prisoner Danelo Cavalcante has been captured. 

According to reports, Cavalante, a convicted murderer, was arrested by a SWAT team in the area where he broke into a home and stole a rifle after getting shot by the resident. There are no details on how the suspect was apprehended. 

On August 31st, he made his escape after being sentenced to life in prison without parole for murdering his ex-girlfriend, 31-year-old Deborah Brandão, in front of her two small children. He scaled the wall in the recreational yard at the Chester County Prison, then proceeded to climb over the wire fence, ran across a roof and jumped to the ground.

An estimate of 500 officers from different law enforcement agencies including the FBI, U.S. Marshals, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives as well as state troopers were a part of the manhunt to capture Cavalante.
