When someone mentions the movie Get Out, it is safe to say that many fans immediately picture the image of British actor, Daniel Kaluuya, in the scene with his gaping mouth and protruding eyes filled with tears.
In an interview with Hollywood Reporter, Kaluuya reminisced on his journey of becoming an actor and how he envisions his professional life with upcoming projects in the near future. As absurd as it may initially sound, one confirmed project is a live-action Barney movie. Yep, you read that right!
The purple dinosaur that sang his popular song, “I love you,” to American children back in the 90s is one of Kaluuya’s inspirations for his new live-action film. In an interview, he stated, “Barney taught us ‘I love you, you love me, won’t you say you love me too?’ That’s one of the first songs I remember… what happens when that isn’t true?” Kaluuya continued his explanation for this intriguing concept of his: “How did everyone get into films? Watching kids’ films. I don’t want to restrict myself to the limitations of what I’m perceived as.”
Fans went on Twitter to post their mixed reviews. Some were excited and supportive of Kaluuya’s vision, whereas others were quick to express their confusion negatively. One user wrote: “7 billion people on Earth, and not 1 person asked for this movie.” Yikes.

However, mixed reviews aren’t putting a halt to Kaluuya’s creative thinking. Besides this project that is being produced under his 59% Productions banner, Daniel Kaluuya is also releasing his new movie Nope next week, July 22nd. Nope interconnects the elements of sci-fi and horror that have stars Keke Palmer, Steven Yeun, Barbie Ferreira, and plenty more.
Daniel Kaluuya is truly a force to be reckoned with in Hollywood, and we are eager about his new live-action Banrey film!
