The AIDS Healthcare Foundation honored Debbie Allen during its Keeping the Promise gala for World AIDS Day last Friday (Nov. 30).
The famed polymath, who’s known for her acting, producing, and dancing talents, received organization’s Lifetime Achievement Award for her “exemplary work…in her career…and [being] a steadfast voice in the fight against HIVE and AIDS.”
“As part of the evening, we were pleased to also honor, recognize and celebrate the exemplary work of icon, Debbie Allen, who throughout her career has been a strong and steadfast voice in the fight against HIV and AIDS,” said Michael Weinstein, President of AHF.
“Ms. Allen was presented AHF’s 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award, which the organization has only previously presented only once–to the legendary artist, humanitarian and activist, Harry Belafonte.”
