Deon Cole recently revealed how serious Jonathan Majors is about his acting roles.
During an appearance on the “Finding the Funny” podcast, Cole said that Majors never broke character.
“He would not get out of character,” Cole said about Majors while filming The Harder They Fall. “I was at a Shell gas station one day, and just heard a horse and looked out. I’m not bulls**tting, dog. … I was buying some chips and sh*t, and I looked out. And this n***a’s getting off a horse, dog. On a Sunday.”
”We weren’t even shooting,” Cole continued. “He got off spurs, had a holster, came into the gas station, got water, and sh*t. I’m thinking to myself, Should I speak to him? Because I don’t want nobody knowing I know him. But [he] saw me, and he was like, ‘Hey, what’s up? I was just like, ‘You tell me what’s up.’”
Cole Recalled How Talented The Cast Was
During an appearance on “The Talk,” Cole shared how he was intimidated at first because of the cast.
“I was blown away, and I almost hung up. Because I thought somebody was playing with me…to be honest with you. I was so blown away to be in the midst of these people, and I admire these people,” Cole said. “When I was there, I was really taken aback. I didn’t know what to do, what to think, what to feel. I just ended up thinking like man, if I’m going to play this serious character with them, then I’m gonna have to pick up on what they do.”
Released in 2021, The Harder They Fall was directed by Jeymes Samuel. The film centers on outlaw Nat Love’s quest for vengeance. The film starred Idris Elba, Zazie Beetz, Regina King, LaKeith Stanfield, Delroy Lindo, Danielle Deadwyler, Edi Gathegi, and RJ Cyler.
