Diddy Loses Ownership Of DeLeón After Reaching A Settlement With Diageo

Diddy is no longer the owner of DeLeón.

According to reports, he has reached an understanding with Diageo after voluntarily dismissing his discrimination lawsuit against the company. In May 2023, Diddy filed a lawsuit against the British alcohol company for racial discrimination. Diddy and Diageo began their business venture in 2007 when they came together to produce Ciroc Vodka.

In 2013, they produced DeLeón and became equal partners of the brand. Ten years later, Diddy accused Diageo of racially profiling him and of neglecting the tequila line. However, the company filed a countersuit stating that throughout their partnership, Diddy only “contributed a total of $1,000 and refused to honor his commitments, while they invested more than $100 million into the brand.”

Diageo’s lawsuit also had a motion to remove Diddy as the face of DeLeón Tequila. Both parties have since come to an amicable agreement which consisted of cutting all ties with one another.

“Sean Combs and Diageo have now agreed to resolve all disputes between them. Mr. Combs has withdrawn all of his allegations about Diageo and will voluntarily dismiss his lawsuits against Diageo with prejudice,” they said in a joint statement.

It continued, “Diageo and Mr. Combs have no ongoing business relationship, either with respect to Cîroc vodka or DeLeón tequila, which Diageo now solely owns.”

This settlement comes after Diddy settled with his ex-girlfriend Cassie, who accused him of sex trafficking and sexual abuse.
