Sean “Diddy” Combs is preparing to take the stand in his upcoming trial, eager to defend himself against serious charges. The rap mogul, facing allegations of sex trafficking and racketeering, will testify in court, according to his attorney Marc Agnifilo. Combs’ legal team confirmed this in a sneak preview of TMZ’s upcoming documentary The Downfall of Diddy: The Indictment, where Agnifilo expressed his confidence in Diddy’s decision to testify.
Diddy is Eager to Share His Story
“I don’t know that I could keep him off the stand,” Agnifilo stated. “He is very eager to tell his story.” Combs, who has denied all charges, is determined to provide his side of the story, which his lawyer describes as one of love, hurt, and heartbreak. The charges stem from a range of accusations, including allegations of abuse by his former girlfriend, Cassie. A security video from 2016 showing Diddy assaulting her in a hotel hallway has become central to the case.
“He has his story, and it’s one that only he can tell,” Agnifilo explained. “When he talks about that relationship, the word he uses most is ‘heartbreak.’”
Risks of Testifying
While taking the stand could be risky, Agnifilo believes that Diddy is the best person to defend himself. “He’s strong, healthy, confident, and focused on his defense,” said the lawyer, dispelling rumors that Diddy’s mental state had deteriorated since his arrest in September. “He’s not at all suicidal,” Agnifilo added, addressing concerns raised by Diddy’s supporters about the rapper’s well-being.
As the court date looms, Diddy’s team remains focused on proving his innocence. “He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal,” Agnifilo emphasized. With multiple charges to answer for, the testimony Diddy plans to make is expected to be a pivotal moment in the trial.
The mogul’s legal team urges the public to reserve judgment until all facts are revealed in court.
