Sean “Diddy” Combs has people fighting for his release before he is sentenced to prison on October 3.

According to reports, the media mogul’s ex-girlfriend, Virginia “Gina” Huynh, has asked for Diddy’s release in a letter she submitted to the judge, stating that he’s “a father, family man, and businessman, roles that he has always striven to uphold.” Huynh was named as victim No. 3 in the federal indictment; however, she was missing from the criminal proceedings.

Although they had a difficult relationship, Huynh’s letter claims that Diddy has “taken accountability for past mistakes and transformed into a more loving, patient, and gentle person over time.”

She wrote, “We experienced ups and downs, and mistakes were made, but he was willing to acknowledge his mistakes and make better decisions in the future. Over the years that followed, he made visible efforts to become a better person and to address the harm he had caused.”

Huynh added that Diddy has not displayed violence “for many years” and says he’s no longer a danger to her or the community.

Diddy’s legal team has been fighting to get the judge to grant his release from the Brooklyn detention center before he is sentenced. He was found guilty of violating the Mann Act for transporting sex workers across state lines. Diddy was acquitted of the more serious charges: racketeering and sex trafficking.
