Dominique Brown, a Disney influencer died after attending an event at a California venue on December 5. Brown, 34, was the co-creator of Black Girl Disney.
Brown suffered a fatal allergic reaction at a BoxLunch industry event in California, despite event organizers reportedly being informed of her allergies in advance.
BoxLunch, a retailer that specializes in fandom merchandise, shared a statement regarding Brown’s passing. “Our hearts go out to her family and friends, and we will do everything we can to support them and the members of the BoxLunch Collective and our team during this painful time,” the statement continued. An investigation is ongoing into Brown’s cause of death.
Brown co-founded Black Girl Disney in 2018 after a trip to Disney World. “Like Most things that lack representation, new platforms are created out of a necessity to see yourself,” the site reads. “We wanted to create a space where we were not only represented, but CENTERED! As a result, @BlackGirlDisney was born!

The Disney community has been mourning the tragic loss of the beloved influencer known as HellooDomo.
Tatiana Kelley, known as Dapper on the Daily, called her “the kindest most genuine person in this community,” while Andrea Pugh Kelley highlighted her role in building and inspiring the Disney influencer community.
The Disney sneaker podcast Kicks at the Castle honored Brown, emphasizing her “warmth and joy” alongside her impeccable sense of style. “Her energy, style, and love for all things Pooh made her unforgettable,” the group shared.
On Brown’s final Instagram post, her brother Patrick Ramos left a comment “to say thank you to her social media fam for showing her so much love and light.”
“Disney did bring her joy, but it was unparalleled that she found a community who loved her and Disney as much as she did,” Ramos wrote. “I will miss my sister and best friend and that infectious smile she always had.”
