On April 15th, news broke that the historic Notre-Dame in Paris caught fire. In efforts to rebuild the Cathedral, the Walt Disney company has pledged $5 million.
The company took to Twitter to state, ”The Walt Disney Company today announced it is committing $5 million to aid in the reconstruction of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris.”

The CEO of the company Bob Iger, also made a statement, “Notre-Dame is a beacon of faith, hope & beauty, inspiring awe and reverence,” he said. “The Walt Disney Company stands with our friends & neighbors in Paris, with heartfelt support and a $5 million donation for the restoration of this masterpiece.”
Other outlets such as Apple, LVMH, and Kering have also agreed to donate to the cause. It has been reported that $1 billion has been raised so far.
