As the world continues to mourn the passing of the legendary DJ Mister Cee, his family has revealed his cause of death.
According to reports, the medical examiner of New York City said that his cause of death was a diabetes-related coronary artery and kidney disease. We reported that DJ Mister Cee passed away on April 10th at 57.
Since his untimely passing, the Hip-Hop community showed the legendary DJ an outpouring of love and support. His family released a statement about the continued support. “On behalf of the Lebrun, Wilson, Calixte families we want to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support for our brother, uncle, nephew Calvin ‘DJ Mister Cee’ Lebrun in the wake of his untimely passing. It’s a huge loss for our entire family, the borough of Brooklyn, and the entire Hip-Hop Community.”
Mister Cee was born in Brooklyn, NY, and got his big break in the 1980s by becoming Big Daddy Kane’s DJ. He would also go on to discover the Notorious B.I.G. and play an integral role in his career. Mister Cee also known as The Finisher, was a part of our sister station, Hot 97, for over two decades and ushered in a new show at the time called, “Throwback at Noon.”
Details about having a public homegoing service for DJ Mister Cee have not been released yet, however, the families have stated that it will be released soon and ask for privacy during this time.
