Don Lemon is doing just fine post-termination
Since the news of his CNN termination earlier this week, Don Lemon has been moving through life as usual. The former “CNN This Morning” anchor hit the red carpet on Wednesday (April 26) at the Time 100 Gala in NYC.
As his first public appearance since his CNN firing, Lemon revealed what his plans are for the summer.
He assured Extra reporter, Tommy DiDario, that he is doing just fine while on the red carpet.
When asked if his termination was a surprise he replied, “Yes it was a surprise but life goes on. That’s behind me and we’ll see what happens in the future.”
As for his future plans, Lemon shared, “I’m gonna spend my summer on the beach and on the boat, and with my family. And just chill out and then I’ll see what happens next, but I’m fortunate enough to be in a position where I can do that.”
“Whatever life hands you, you have to bob and weave and do it. I didn’t think I would be at work one evening and I’d get a phone call that my sister had died.” He added, “Lots of things come your way that are unexpected but I am a survivor. I come from strong, sturdy stock in Louisiana.”
Lemon joined CNN in September 2006 as a correspondent. He later achieved prominence as the host of prime-time show Don Lemon Tonight from 2014 to 2022. He most recently served as co-host for CNN This Morning, alongside anchors Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins. According to CNN, “He gained significant fame during the presidency of Donald Trump for his no-holds-barred commentary about the former president, pushing back against his lies and calling him a ‘racist.’”
