On Monday at the Cleveland Cavaliers’ media day, guard Donovan Mitchell didn’t hold back when asked about his fiancée, singer-actress Coco Jones. The 29-year-old All-Star spoke with a broad smile and a tone of evident admiration as he described what Jones means to him — both romantically and personally.
“Man, that’s my dog. I love her to death,” Mitchell said. “She’s an amazing human being. She brings me peace.”
He added: “Getting to spend time with her on tour was something that was very unique ’cause you realize that she travels and works just as hard as we do. On the tour bus, up late nights.”
“She’s a special human. And you see it in her work, and to be able to call her my fiancée, my wife, is a blessing. So, I’m grateful.”
A Relationship Built on Mutual Respect and Hard Work
Mitchell emphasized that Jones’s dedication — on stage and on the road — resonates deeply with him. He recalled spending time with her during her “Why Not More?” tour. Watching her rehearse and plan late into the night, he said, gave him a new level of respect. “She travels and works just as hard as we do,” he told reporters.
The couple formalized their engagement earlier this year, sharing an intimate proposal via social-media posts in July 2025. The moment was met with widespread support from fans and peers alike.
In the months since, their public appearances together have become more frequent. The once-private relationship is drawing gentle attention as both continue to excel in their respective careers — Mitchell on the court, and Jones in music and acting.
For Mitchell, who has often spoken about legacy and purpose beyond basketball, having a partner like Jones appears to resonate on a deeper level. Her work ethic, creativity and personal grounding seem to harmonize with his own values.
“She brings me peace,” he said. “To be able to call her my fiancée, my wife, is a blessing.”
