Maybe free, doesn’t mean free anymore? Tirza Wilbon White, who is a regular at her local Dunkin Donuts- was utilizing the stores free Wi-Fi, which ultimately got the cops called on her.
The store owner, told White that she needed to make a purchase if she wanted to stay in the store and use the Wi-Fi. White states she was dress in a “hoodie, yoga pants, and no make-up” because of her appearance, she felt “racially profiled.”
As the incident was playing out, White records the whole thing via her cell phone. She states she was being “harassed” by the white store owner. The owner states she was just “ensuring” the “safety” of her costumers.
“I get to make my own rules. … I need to ensure safety to my customers, It’s nothing against you,” she says, citing previous issues with customers. “We’re just trying to make our customers feel safe.”
