Following the sentencing of Amber Guyger, who murdered Botham Jean- people across the world were taken back once they seen Botham Jean’s brother hugging Guyger after she was sentenced only 5 years.
Many people questioned the reason she was consoled during the trial, as well as the amount of time the jury agreed to sentence her. It caught a lot of people by surprise to hear Jean’s brother tell Guyger he forgave her.
He expressed that he didn’t want to live the rest of his life “hating her.” He feels “free” now that Guyger will be serving time.
Many people felt like he did it for publicity but according to him, he thought the cameras were turned off.
