COS Spotlight: Skip Marley’s Rise In Music

The grandson of Reggae icon Bob Marley, and the nephew of Ziggy and Damian Marley, Skip Marley has established himself as a force of his own to be reckoned with.

The singer/songwriter became the first Jamaican-born artist to top Billboard’s Adult R&B Songs chart with his hit single, Slow Down featuring H.E.R. The single became the quickest-streaming song in Marley Family history, as it had garnered over 44 million streams.

The 24-year-old Jamaican-born reggae artist grew up in a musical environment of his homeland and family, he would often tour with his uncles Ziggy and Stephen at a young age.  Back In 2017, he collaborated with pop singer Katy Perry on her hit “Chained To The Rhythm,” making him the first in his family to hit the Top 10 on Billboard’s Hot 100. The single quickly became a Top Ten pop hit in several countries.

Skip recently joint forces with rapper Rick Ross and Ari Lennox for the track “Make Me Feel” which, along with other  singles, was included in his debut EP, Higher Place, that was released in August.
