Mary J. Blige Is Set To Be Inducted Into The Apollo Walk Of Fame

The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul is will be going into the Apollo Walk of Fame on Friday, May 28th, where she will be joining other legends such as Gladys Knight and the Pips, Ella Fitzgerald, Patti LaBelle, Quincy Jones, and so many more. 

The Root reports, The Apollo will unveil the plaque as well as spotlight her career and the impact she has had on the culture. 

Mary J. Blige has been in the music industry for nearly thirty years, starting with her 1992 debut album, “What’s the 411?”. This album was produced by Sean “Diddy” Combs and gave fans hits such as Real Love and You Remind Me. 

In 1994, Mary released her second album, “My Life” which gave fans a personal side of her, which was followed by “Share My World” in 1997.

Throughout her career, Mary has won nine Grammy awards and has also graced the big screen in a few movies and tv series. 

Some of those movies and tv series include 2017’s Mudbound, which earned her two Academy Awards nominations, two Golden Globe nominations, and a SAG nomination for her role as Florence Jackson.

She also stars in Power Book 2: Ghost and will star in Aretha Franklin’s biopic Respect this coming August.
