Rihanna Drops Lawsuit Against Her Father Weeks Before The Trial

Rihanna is no longer taking her father, Ronald Fenty, to court.

The singer has reportedly dropped the lawsuit against her dad, claiming that he was “misusing her name to benefit his own entertainment company.”

The two were supposed to meet in court on Sept. 22nd, however, the Stay singer had filed to have the case dismissed this past Tuesday.  At the moment, there is no confirmed reason why the charges were dropped, but it is being rumored that she has settled out of court with her father.

The case was opened in 2019, when Rihanna sued her father and his business partner, Moses Joktan Perkins, for allegedly false advertising and invasion of privacy. She alleged that the two men had created a company named Fenty Entertainment and advertised that she was affiliated with it.

According to the court documents, the Bajan singer’s lawyers stated, “Mr. Fenty and Mr. Perkins has used these lies in a fraudulent effort to solicit millions of dollars from unsuspecting third parties in exchange for the false promise that they were authorized to act on Rihanna’s behalf.”

It has been reported that Rihanna has also accused her father of booking a tour overseas for $15 million without her consent.
