We Recognize Her: Bozoma Saint John, Netflix’s First Black Corporate Executive

WBLS is proud to celebrate the women who make contributions to our communities, our culture, society, and who are making it history! Today we recognize Bozoma Saint John, the first Black Corporate Executive at Netflix.

Saint John replaced Jackie Lee-Joe and became the company’s third executive in 18-months. Before accepting her position at Netflix, Saint John was the CMO of Endeavor since 2018.

Netflix’s Chief Content Officer, Ted Sarandos said, “Bozoma Saint John is an exceptional marketer who understands how to drive conversations around popular culture better than almost anyone.”

He continued, “As we bring more great stories to our members around the world, she’ll define and lead our next exciting phase of creativity and connection with consumers.”

Saint John’s career spans nearly 20-years in multiple industries such as music, fashion, sports, etc. She was the Chief Brand Officer of Uber, the Head of Global Consumer Marketing for Apple Music and iTunes, and the Head of Music and Entertainment Marketing Group at Pepsi-Cola North America.

Bozoma Saint John also spoke about her new role at Netflix, “I’m thrilled to join Netflix, especially at a time when storytelling is critical to our global, societal well-being. I feel honored to contribute my experience to an already dynamic legacy and to continue driving engagement in the future.”
