Grammy nominated singer, Eric Roberson‘s new single, “Mask”, is all about vulnerability.
Created in partnership African American Male Wellness Agency to promote mental health awareness, “Mask” centers a man who is ready to change and be his true self.
“I can’t wear this mask any longer / I don’t feel I’m getting stronger / Had it on so long, I don’t recognize who I am,” he sings at a crossroads. “The world doesn’t really know me / And whenever I try to show me / They scratch their heads cause they don’t even know really who I am / Allow me the time to introduce who I am to me once again.”
The song is the continuation of Eric’s mission to release a new work every month or bi-monthly to continue inspiring music lovers around the world.
This was probably my hardest song to write and record this year. Even though I didn’t feel like it was my story, I immersed myself deeply in the character. I cried throughout the entire process. I hope it reaches someone who needs it,” Eric shares.
“Mask” is the latest installment in Eric’s cycle of continually releasing new music for his fans. This highly emotional work of art joins the previously released songs in the series: “You,” “Here For You,” “Things Meant For Me,” “I Apologize,” and “Just Don’t Hold It In.”
