Everything You Need To Know About The 4th Stimulus Check Some Americans Will Receive

A surprise stimulus check is on the way for some Americans that qualify.

Individuals living in California, Florida, Georgia, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, and Tennessee qualify to receive money. Under the new laws in those areas, the funds are for low-income families and people who work in the education system. Some are for first responders. .

Here is the breakdown of each state and everything you should know:

  • In California, you have to be a resident within the last six months in 2020 and you’ll receive a check for $1,100, if they earned less than $75,000 in 2020.
  • People living in Florida qualify if they’re teachers, principals, and first responders. They’ll receive $1,000 for their service during the pandemic. The same goes for Georgia residents, minus first responders.
  • In Maine, individuals that worked during the pandemic will get a $285 check. The article points out more than 500,000 employees are eligible. In order to qualify, one must have a Federal Adjusted Gross Income (FAGI) on their 2020 Maine income tax return of less than $75,000 (single or married filing separately), $112,500 (head of household), or $150,000 (married joint or surviving spouse).
  • Under the Maryland Relief Act of 2021, residents will receive their state-wide stimulus check, only if the person filed their earned income tax credit. Those that qualify will get $300 and those with children will get $500.
  • In Michigan, teachers, full time child care professionals will receive a $1,000 check if eligible.
  • Tennessee residents that are full time public school employees will get a check for $1,000. Part time workers will get $500.
