Idris Elba has officially entered pop culture immortality with his latest wax figure. The resemblance is so spot-on that it is stopping fans in their tracks.
Idris Elba is newest local legend to be honored at Madame Tussauds London.
“I don’t know what to say. I’m speechless, literally. Wow,” said an astonished Elba.
During the unveiling, the Hiijack actor surprised his mother with a FaceTime call, to which she echoed Elba’s surprised sentiment.
Social media took to The Shaderoom’s comment section as well as on X to react to the lifelike figure.
“I thought they were revealing he had a twin brother!” said one user, while another one called it “the best one” she’s seen.
Blex Media reports that Madame Tussauds’ artists spent years working closely with Elba to capture his signature posture, expression, and undeniable presence. The lifelike figure blurs the line between wax and reality.
The figure is dressed in a sleek monochrome blue Eve of Winston suit designed by Elba himself. He originally wore the look in July 2024 while meeting King Charles III at a youth violence prevention event. A long-sleeve version of the suit was custom-made for the museum and paired with patent Christian Louboutin shoes personally donated by Elba.
His hyper-realistic wax figure now lives in the attraction’s iconic Awards Party zone, amongst elite company. This include Zendaya, Timothée Chalamet, Lady Gaga, Harry Styles, Gillian Anderson, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
