The cast of the hit TV show “Martin” reunited at the Emmys to present the award for Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.
Martin Lawrence, Tisha Campbell, Tichina Arnold, and Carl Anthony Payne II came together on the recreation of the show’s iconic set and did a little skit before presenting the award. Payne II, who played Cole on the show said, “We finally about to get an Emmy!,” he said happily. “Yeah, we gettin’ our Emmy tonight. As a matter of fact, I’ve got my speech on deck too, all ready to go,” as he pulled a note from his pocket.
However, Tisha and Tichina, who played best friends Gina and Pam on the show, quickly cleared things up. “Carl, we’re not winning an Emmy tonight,” Campbell said, “Please, sit your butt down.” Arnold added, “Carl, we’re presenting an award, not being presented with one, knucklehead.”
Although the small skit was entertaining, fans were quick to notice Lawrence’s stage presence and many even pointed out that his mannerisms were due to a stroke he suffered back in 1999. Fans went on social media to ask if he was okay while presenting the award. See some of their reactions below.
Martin Lawrence also went on social media to express his gratitude for being on the Emmys and reuniting with his former castmates.
