Flavor Flav is getting the ultimate Red Lobster honor: his own signature meal.
Red Lobster announced Monday (July 1) that they are partnering with the hip-hop superstar for his own meal, “Flavor Flav’s Faves.”
The collaboration comes after Flav publicly promoted the restaurant chain after it filed for bankruptcy in May.
After catching wind of the financial news, the hip-hop legend, 65, came in for the assist. In May, he ordered the whole menu in an effort to “save the Cheddar Bay Biscuits.”
“Ya boy said he wuz gonna do everything to help Red Lobster and save the Cheddar Bay Biscuits,,, ordered the whole menu,” he captioned a photo of his spread on Instagram in June.
In mid-June, the “Crab Your Way” promo dropped on TikTok featuring Flavor Flav’s signature “Yeah Boyeeeee!” catchphrase before exclaiming, “When the internet said Red Lobster is going away, boy Flavor Flav said not today!”
As a major thank you for his efforts, Red Lobster is introducing the “Flavor Flav’s Faves” meal.
The exclusive meal includes a Maine lobster tail, snow crab legs, garlic shrimp scampi, bacon macaroni and cheese and the customer’s choice of one side.
There’s just one catch; the meal won’t be found on the permanent menu. Patrons will hav to ask their server for the Flavor Flav’s Fave when ordering.
“As a long-time Red Lobster fan, I’m fired up to bring a little bit of my own flavor to fans with a meal featuring my seafood favorites,” Flavor Flav said in a statement. “You gotta get to Red Lobster and give it a try because this signature meal is hype, boy!”
According to the Associated Press, Red Lobster filed for bankruptcy protection in May after closing dozens of locations across the United States. However, the chain promised to continue operating its 600 restaurants while looking for a sale.
Aside from landing his own meal, Flav is also serving as an ambassador for the USA women’s and men’s water polo teams. Flav signed a five-year sponsorship deal and made a contribution to the women’s Olympic team.
