Brian Flores, the former head coach of the Miami Dolphins, has filed a lawsuit against the NFL.
According to reports, Flores filed a class-action in the Southern District of New York on Tuesday against the NFL, the New York Giants, the Denver Broncos, and the Dolphins, citing racial discrimination in the hiring process for executives and coaches.
The lawsuit also claims that the owner of the Dolphins, Stephen Ross, offered Flores $100,000 for every game that his loss as a way to make sure that the team would fail for the No. 1 draft pick during the 2019 season.
Flores also submitted texts from Bill Belichick, the head coach of the New England Patriots, stating that the “Giants conducted an interview with Flored while knowing that they intended to hire Brian Daboll as head coach.”
It goes on to say that Giants only interview Brian Flores to satisfy the NFL’s Rooney Rule, a mandate that requires teams to interview minority candidates.
