Gabrielle Union Partners with NBC to Produce ‘Black Girl Magic’ Comedy

Gabrielle Union will serve as an executive producer on a new comedy series coming to NBC titled, Black Girl Magic. According to Variety:

It’s a new comedy show that tells the story of three estranged sisters who learn a mysterious secret about their family history that changes their lives and brings them back to the magical world of New Orleans.

Created by Crystal Boyd, Chandra Russell and Emebeit Beyene the project will be produced under Union’s I’ll Have Another Production.

Russell and Beyene took to Instagram to celebrate.

“This is what dedication looks like. I worked hard for this, man,” Beyene posted. “Cried all year off taking so many L’s. Grateful to my team for believing in me, @gabunion for advocating day in and day out, and most importantly, to those two ride or dies pictured next to me. Let’s do this.”



“There was more than one way to have a hot girl summer. Some of us drove the boat while others quietly closed deals,” Russell wrote. “Shout out to the girls next to me who did both. And shout out to me who did it and tired. God is good.”
