Gary Owen is learning the hard way about what happens when you joke about sensitive topics in your personal life. The comedian had made a joke about cheating on his ex-wife, Kenya Duke, and revealed what really led to their divorce.

Owen was speaking with controversial comedian Andrew Schulz about his career and the upcoming projects he has coming up, before things turned to his relationship history and his infidelity. Schulz had played a clip of an old interview they did years ago, when the “Think Like A Man,” star revealed that he had been happily married for 16 years.

He was then asked out of the 16 years of marriage how many years he had been faithful, to which Owen choked on his drink but didn’t answer the question. Owen seemingly looked uncomfortable watching the footage and revealed that he had no idea that Schulz was going to play it. He also revealed that the same clip was used during his divorce proceedings.

“That came up in court bro, that came up in court. We settled, but that came up in court,” he said. As the interview went on, the comedian revealed that a “lack of intimacy” played a part in their marriage falling apart and said that in the last six years of their 20-year marriage, they were only intimate with each other three times.

In March 2021, we reported that Kenya Duke filed for divorce from Gary Owen, which was eventually settled.
