Gayle King isn’t holding back her feelings about being upset with CBS.

According to reports, King expressed her disdain for the network’s decision to move her show from the studios in Times Square back to the CBS Broadcast Center. Reports also say that the West Side Manhattan studio is not as nice as the Times Square studio.

The alleged decision to move seems to stem from budget cuts due to Paramount’s possible acquisition by Skydance Media for $28 billion. Sources close to Gayle King said she’s not happy about the news and that she was blindsided by it.

“Gayle is livid. She sees this as a personal attack. She only signed a one-year extension, and this was not part of the deal,” the source said. “She made it very clear- she’s not going to be shoved into some dingy little room. She expects the same level of comfort and prestige she had at 1515 Broadway. No exceptions.”

Another close source added, “This is the final insult. Gayle is done putting up with this. She’s got Oprah in her corner, she has options, and she’s not afraid to use them.” Gayle King renewed her contract in September 2024 and still has things to fulfill before it expires. However, things can change if the studio space does.
