H.E.R and the Isley Brothers Surprised Fans at Summer Jam!

Hot 97’s iconic concert Summer Jam took place on Sunday in front of a packed MetLife Stadium as inches of rain fell. Year after year Summer Jam is defined by the surprise guests brought out by the performers. In past years, Michael Jackson graced the Summer Jam Stage alongside Jay-Z and Lauryn Hill performed alongside Nas. 

This year the Summer Jam audience was surprised by two prolific talents from different generations! During Swizz Beatz tribute to DMX, Swizz Beatz brought out Ron Isley of the Isley Brothers! Swizz owns and operates Verzuz, which recently featured the Isley Brothers. This was an amazing moment where the Summer Jam audience got to see legends from the past perform alongside rappers like Fat Joe and Remy Ma.  

To close out the night New York rapper A Boogie Wit A Hoodie surprised the crowd with H.E.R! H.E.R performed Jungle, Slide, and Damage to close out the show.

Summer Jam had something for everyone, but also further cemented the blending of R&B and hip-hop. Fans of both genres are growing to appreciate one another as both R&B and hip-hop further dominate pop culture.
